Survey Details
The Chandra AEGIS-X survey consists of seven 200 ks pointings, in addition to a previous 200 ks observation of the Groth-Westphal strip portion of the EGS (from AO3). The layout of the AEGIS-X survey is shown below. Most of the Chandra pointings (denoted EGS-1, EGS-2 etc) have been observed four times with Chandra, for approximately 50 ks duration each. EGS-6 was observed multiple times.
In July 2007 a further 1.8 Ms of Chandra ACIS-I time was awarded in AO-9 to observe three of the EGS fields (EGS-3, EGS-4 and EGS-5) to a total depth of 800 ks each. This very deep Chandra survey will overlap with the ultra-deep Spitzer data from the FIDEL survey.

The survey started on 14th March 2005 and was finished on 11th December 2005. Some details of each of the observations and JPEG images of the Chandra data are provided below.
