ICIC workshop - practical information

TRAVEL

If you are traveling through Heathrow, the easiest and cheapest way to get to Imperial College is to take the Piccadilly line of the London Underground (£5.30, 40min) to Gloucester Road station. The most comfortable and fastest way is to take the Heathrow Express (~ £18, 15min) to Paddington station, and then take a Cab to your hotel (~ £10).

If you are traveling through Gatwick, you need to take a train to Victoria station. The Gatwick Express is a simple (30 min) option, but there are a number of other trains that serve the same route and can be much cheaper at weekend and other off peak times. But be sure to check the travel time, since some of these trains are much slower. Depending on the time of travel, there may be significant savings from booking on line and/or booking return (round trip) tickets. From Victoria station you can either take the London Underground (£4.30, District/Circle line) to Gloucester Road or take a Cab to your hotel.

If you are planning to take the Underground a few times during your visit, pick up an Oyster Card. It is much cheaper and much faster than buying tickets for each Underground journey.
